A download code does not need a disc drive. You still need the correct platform version, a compatible account region and enough storage. Read the product listing before buying a box as a gift.
When can I download it?
Rockstar lists preload from November 12, 2026 at local midnight. This is a download start, not permission to play early.
Does November 12 guarantee delivery?
No. Rockstar says physical copies become available for shipping or pickup from November 12; shipping time depends on the order. Rockstar Store buyers receive tracking when the package ships.
Which format should I choose?
Our take: compare whether you want a physical box against the convenience of buying directly on your account. Treat delivery timing and code compatibility as part of the decision. A box should not be mistaken for a reusable game disc.
